Small Dog Enclosure at Noble Park Dog Park Opens Tuesday, August 27

Date of Release:
August 26, 2024

The Paducah Parks & Recreation Department is announcing that the small dog enclosure at the new Noble Park Dog Park officially opens to the public on Tuesday, August 27.

After relocating the dog parks from Stuart Nelson Park to Noble Park earlier this year due to the construction of the Paducah Sports Park, the Noble Park dog parks had an official ribbon cutting on May 14. However, the small enclosure did not open at that time to allow grass to establish.

Director of Parks and Recreation Amie Clark said, “I want to thank our dog-lovers for their patience as we worked to relocate the dog parks and allow some time for grass to establish. We are still working to improve the sites with additional work coming this fall including the reseeding of both enclosures, weed maintenance, and additional grading to improve drainage.”

Today, Parks & Recreation crews are installing signage and locating tables in the small dog park. On Tuesday, the small dog park will open and the temporary fencing will be removed from the large dog park to further expand the running and play space for the larger dog breeds.

The Noble Park Dog Parks are located adjacent to the Anna Baumer Building and Shelter 17 behind the amphitheatre. The dog parks are open seven days a week from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m. in the summer season (April – October) and from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. in the winter season (November – March). Please note these hours may change due to inclement weather or special events.

The dog parks include two fenced areas based upon the weight of a dog with 35 pounds as the general dividing weight. The dog parks include water fountains, fencing with vestibule entries, shelters, lighting, pet waste receptacles, and paved accessible parking areas. Portable restrooms are also onsite.

To keep pets and owners safe, please review the following rules before visiting the dog parks. The full list is posted at the entrance to each dog park.
